“Briefly unavailable for Scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute”

After you upgrade to wordpress 3.0 automatically, you get sent to a window that says “Briefly unavailable for Scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute”. I first thought it would go away after it finished installing, but it never did.

Here is how to solve the WordPress 3.0 “Briefly unavailable for Scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute” error:

1. Step 1: Login to your blog via FTP
2. Go to your root director where you have your wordpress install
3. Be sure to “show hidden files”
4. Delete the file named “.maintenance”
5. You are good to go!
